Locally Sourced
We work with fishermen, farmers and producers across County Antrim. Every ingredient on your plate has a story rooted in our community.
The Anchor was founded in 2008 by the McAllister family, who wanted to bring proper, honest seafood cooking to Carrickfergus. What started as a small harbour-side café has grown into one of the most loved restaurants on the Antrim Coast — a place where locals gather and visitors discover the true taste of our waters.
Every morning, our kitchen team works with suppliers from across County Antrim — fishermen who know these waters, farmers who understand our seasons, bakers who craft the bread that arrives warm at your table. We don't chase trends. We cook what's good, what's fresh, and what honours the harbour outside our window.
Today, Daniel McAllister leads our kitchen while Claire Hughes welcomes every guest through our doors. The Anchor remains a family business at heart — and we hope you feel that from your first bite to your last.
